CURRICULUM
MusicMusic Curriculum Ambition: National
Music is a universal language that embodies one of the highest forms of creativity. Our music curriculum endeavours to engage and inspire pupils to develop a love of music and enhance their talent as musicians, increasing their self-confidence, creativity and sense of achievement. – As pupils progress through the curriculum, they develop a critical engagement with music, allowing them to compose, and to listen with discrimination to the best in the musical canon.
Music Curriculum Ambition: Roselands
In EYFS and Key stage 1 pupils are taught to use their voices expressively and creatively by singing songs and speaking chants and rhymes. They learn to play tuned and untuned instruments musically and have opportunities to listen with concentration and understanding to a range of high-quality live and recorded music. Pupils are encouraged to experiment with creating, selecting and combining sounds using the inter-related dimensions of music.
Our Vision: Be The Best We Can Be
We want our pupils to be confident, independent, high achieving learners who are prepared for the next stage of their education and can fully participate as global citizens.
We will achieve this by a commitment to providing an inclusive, safe and inspirational teaching and learning environment that promotes high expectations of all pupils.
We support one another to overcome challenges with confidence and resilience, showing respect for ourselves and each other. We celebrate hard work and effort and our successes are shared because we know that together we can achieve more.
